Spa therapy jet leak under a resurfaced deck
This New Smyrna Beach spa was losing water through a cracked venturi fitting on one of its therapy jets — buried in the ground beneath a concrete deck the owner had just had resurfaced.
We pinpointed the break, saw-cut through the deck, and excavated down to the fitting. The failed venturi tee came out, a new one went in, and we re-tested the line before backfilling the hole and pouring the slab back. From there we waterproofed around the through-wall fitting and patched the plaster. The one thing we could not put back was the rubberized deck coating — it had been applied only weeks earlier, so the owner had his deck company return to blend the patch into the new finish.
The repair, step by step
-
01
The deck opened directly over the pinpointed break. -
02
Excavated down to the therapy jet fitting. -
03
Failed fitting cut out and removed. -
04
The failed venturi tee, out of the ground. -
05
The break itself. -
06
New fitting plumbed in and re-tested before the hole went back. -
07
Refilled and back in service, with the deck coating blended back over the patch.

Electronic listening pinpoints underground leaks to within inches — so we can do targeted excavation instead of full re-routes. These photos show the difference.
