Spa Main Drain Crack
This is a cool main drain design — but along the seam where the round mold meets the shell, we found an unusual structural crack and delamination that was actively leaking and needed to be addressed permanently.
This one was more of an exploratory repair; curious what had actually happened, we drained the spa into the pool and got started. Once we opened it up, the problem revealed itself: the shell had gone soft around the entire perimeter of the drain's interior edge. We removed the soft gunite and rebuilt the voids with a rapid-set structural mortar closely matched to the original in aggregate and bond strength. From there we applied a bonding agent and patched the plaster back in.
